Ranges D and E – Vintage 22LR Rifle Silhouette Match
Austin Rifle Club, Ranges D and E.
Registration and match setup 7:45. Match starts by 8:30.
Contact: Tim Lee
This match will follow a modified 22BPCR rules format (corrected to 1/5th scale to fit the ARC 100meter range). Rifles allowed will be inclusive of all vintage rifle Smallbore types, not just pre-1896 period single shots (lever action, bolt, pump & semiautos are also allowed).
The course of fire: 1/5th scale targets in the shape of Chickens at 40meters, Pigs at 50m, Turkeys at 75m, and Rams at 100. Pigs, Turkeys, and Ram targets are shot either from a standing, prone, kneeling, or sitting position (a short stool or bucket with no back/side support is allowed). Rifle fore end or muzzle support may only utilize ground based BPCR style cross sticks as support (no bipods or rifle rests). Chickens (for score) are shot from the standing position without artificial support (sighter shots only will be allowed from a supported position on chickens).
Open sights to be vernier/tang, barrel, or receiver mounted metallic (peep/aperture sights are highly recommended for these small targets).
We will also have a vintage scoped category, similar to 22BPCR/NRA BPCR rules (1890s vintage Unertl/Lyman/Fecker-type scope utilizing period correct mounts). No modern era or internally adjustable scopes allowed in the scoped category.
